Meet the ISBT Team

Judith Chapman, Executive Director

I have worked within the field of transfusion medicine in different roles for many years from medical laboratory technician to service manager for haematology and blood transfusion at a central London university hospital. Having gained an MBA I moved to NHSBT to manage the Blood Stocks Management Scheme established to monitor and improve blood supply management in the UK. This was a position that required use of some of the strategic skills I had learnt during my MBA studies.

I attended my first ISBT congress in 1984. In 2004 it was a great honour to be the congress president for the 28th International congress of the ISBT held in conjunction with BBTS which took place in Edinburgh. Through this congress I became more involved with ISBT and was elected to the Board subsequently becoming the ISBT Vice President.

In December 2008 I joined ISBT as Executive Director with responsibility for the effective management of the ISBT Central Office, and working closely with the Board of Directors to deliver the society’s policies and strategy. It’s a great job to have and I enjoy the fact that I am able to connect with so many enthusiastic blood transfusion professionals from around the world.

Dionne Hallegraeff, Communications Coordinator

After an exciting and fast-paced career in the dutch festival and event industry and a lot of adventures, I've developed the desire to switch to a more societal and communicational role. After working as a freelance copywriter and projectmanager for the last year, I crossed paths with ISBT.

Enabling the sharing of knowledge and connecting people, in any form, has always been a big part of my career and personality. In 2015 I obtained my Bachelor in Economics at Inholland University of Applies Sciences, Amsterdam. During my internship at a big electronic music company, I organically shifted into the sustainbility side of the industry. Making sure that partying gets a deeper meaning, being mindfull of the environment becomes a priority and instigating societal change, became my mission.

I am excited to take the knowledge and skills I've acquired into ISBT and connect those who enhance transfusion practice.

In the role of Communication Coordinator I will be happy to assist you with any questions relating the ISBT website, newsletters, advertising opportunities in Transfusion Today or any other communication related issues.

PS, follow us on FacebookTwitter and/or LinkedIn for scientific facts, recent studies and the latest ISBT news!

Ralph Zepeda, Finance Manager

I started my finance career over 30 years ago in the United States. I moved to the Netherlands 20 years ago and have had the pleasure of working for a variety of companies big and small. In January 2011 I was fortunate enough to cross paths with the ISBT and have been the finance manager ever since. The ISBT has great people and I enjoy working with the entire team. We are all here to serve so I urge you to contact me if there are any financial matters you would like to discuss.
