Affiliate membership is open to National Blood Transfusion Societies, Blood Services and Blood Centres. All Affiliate members will be required to name one representative and must agree to abide by the ISBT Code of Ethics.
Applications are reviewed by the Board of Directors.
As an Affiliate member, all members of your national society or all employees of your blood centre or blood service will get complimentary access to a selection of material on ISBT Education. This selection of material, the Affiliate Suite, includes presentations from past congresses (webcasts and learning quizzes), an educational eBook and the international Guideline library.
The named representative will:
• receive full access to ISBT Education
• receive voting rights at the ISBT General Assemblies
• receive access to Vox Sanguinis and Transfusion Today (both paper and online)
• have online access to Working Party material
• receive the monthly E-news
• be eligible to nominate candidates for elections to the Board of Directors
• receive registration discount at ISBT congresses
The named representative will be the main point of contact between MCI and the Affiliate. We will ask the named representative to communicate the status as Affiliate member to the members or employees of the institution, and provide a simple registration process for members/employees to grant them access to ISBT Education. For more information please contact ISBT Central Office.
The cost of becoming an Affiliate member of ISBT depends on the UNHDI of the country where the affiliate is located, and the number of members or employees the national society, blood centre or blood service has.
National blood transfusion societies, blood services and blood centres in lower middle and low income countries (according to the World Bank Index) pay €1,- per member/employee, with a minimum of €100 for blood centres and blood services, and a minimum of €200 for national societies.
National blood transfusion societies, blood services and blood centres in upper middle and high income countries (according to the World Bank Index) pay €2,- per member/employee, with a minimum of €100 for blood centres and blood services, and a minimum of €200 for national societies.
