Individual membership

Individual membership is for individuals who have demonstrated a sustained interest in the field of blood transfusion medicine and science or related disciplines. Individual membership includes:

  • Access to ISBT Education (including congress webcasts and presentations)
  • Subscription for Vox Sanguinis 
  • Access to ISBT's in house quarterly magazine, Transfusion Today 
  • Receipt of the monthly E-news
  • Registration discount at ISBT congresses
  • Become a member of one of ISBT's 15 Working Parties (by application)
  • Voting at yearly General Assembly
  • Nominating candidates for elections to the Board of Directors
  • Opportunity to be elected to the ISBT Board of Directors

 

Affiliate membership

Affiliate membership is open to National Blood Transfusion Societies, Blood Services and Blood Centres. All Affiliate members will be required to name one representative, who receives the same benefits as an individual member 

The named representative will be the main point of contact between ISBT and the Affiliate (yourselves). We will ask them to communicate with their Affiliate members matters to do with the ISBT affiliate membership. The representative can also add members to the website so to access the Affiliate Suite. All other members of your organisation will get complimentary access to a selection of material on the ISBT Education portal . This selection of material, under the Affiliate Suite, includes presentations from past congresses (webcasts and learning quizzes), some recent and past webinars an educational eBook and the international Guideline library.

 

The cost of becoming an Affiliate member depends on the WBI of the country where the affiliate (organisation) is located, and the number of members or employees in your organisation (those receiving access).

  • National blood transfusion societies, blood services and blood centres in lower middle and low income countries (according to the World Bank Index) pay €1,- per member/employee, with a minimum of €100 for blood centres and blood services, and a minimum of €200 for national societies.
  • National blood transfusion societies, blood services and blood centres in upper middle and high income countries (according to the World Bank Index) pay €2,- per member/employee, with a minimum of €100 for blood centres and blood services, and a minimum of €200 for national societies.

 

Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership is a recognition of those, long-serving members, who have made remarkable contributions to the advancement of the society. This membership is a lifetime appointment with all benefits of a full, individual membership and it is given by invitation only. Membership dues are waived for honorary members.
