The ISBT Working Party on Immunohaematology is thrilled to offer ONE laboratory scientist the chance to travel to the International Blood Group Reference Laboratory (IBGRL) in Bristol, UK, for a two-week training placement.
What’s in it for you?
Gain hands-on experience in investigating rare and complex red cell immunohaematology cases. You’ll also learn about the many investigative tools required to solve complex cases.
Who should apply?
- Laboratory scientists working in red cell immunohaematology labs, blood transfusion services, or blood banks.
- Preferably involved in reference work (e.g., antibody identification, adsorptions, elutions).
- Passionate about immunohaematology and eager to enhance their skills.
Applicants from upper middle-, lower middle- and low income countries are especially encouraged to apply!
What’s included?
The bursary covers return economy flights, airport transfers, and accommodation.
Training Dates
Choose one of the following blocks:
- 24th March – 4th April 2025
- 31st March – 11th April 2025
- 12th May – 23rd May 2025
Important: The successful applicant must ensure they can secure the necessary UK travel visa.
