The International Haemovigilance Network (IHN) in collaboration with the haemovigilance working party of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) and Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT UK) are collecting data on the traceability practices around the world. Bidirectional traceability is essential to ensure transfusion safety, but we are conscious that awareness and practices in place to ensure this varies significantly.
